i was at first going to just say "wow, looks cowboy bebop movie esque"

but in reality this is much more! i LOVE how the background red mixes with the purple. the subject matter of the butterflies really softens up what would normally be a rather sinister red color, and the mushrooms really tie in well. there is also enough purple noise that is almost seems like a film layer over the painting, but not so much as it pulls your eyes out of the picture.

if i were to change or add anything i would experiment with other background colors other than red (even though i doubt your layers are allowing) and maybe add in more butterflies in the background (right now it seems like they are all rather large and close, and maybe getting them as purple dots with their purple glow interacting with the trees farther back could give the picture some more depth that you otherwise miss)

great job regardless though! very nice brushwork

wow thanx, ive never seen cowboy bebop so i cant say it was even influenced whatsoever... and the red is for a reason, it signifies the heart... deep red... and the closeness of the butterflies are because theyre new to the area... youll also notice there isnt much growth where the butterflies are yet to go... ;D its all very deep, i love chucking in things people dont see right away... gives an image more meaning then just a visual stimulation

i know what you mean! im not one for abstracts or you know... meaning-ful images of any kind, but when i did this [link] on assignment and it was in class critiqued nobody noticed the 2 different light sources depicting the sun rising and setting (life and death)

hidden stuff that only you know about is great, unfortunately i want the whole world to know so its not a secret for long i guess

Omg like i told u i am in love with it...
The glowing path seems like now that you have love you've got guidence. The glowing mushrooms on the trees dont need to make sense because they just seem brighter with love and the butterflies open the scene up wonderfully. I definately love it. The red in the background also shows love like your in a heart or the heart of a fire oh my god i want it lol. its so beautiful
